Parents Information
At Little Nest Day Nursery, we are proud to offer both government-funded childcare hours and private childcare options to support the needs of our families.
We accept all eligible government funding, including:
· 15 hours funded childcare : All children aged 3 and 4 are entitled to 15 hours of government-funded childcare per week, for 38 weeks per year, beginning from the term following their third birthday. This universal entitlement is available to all families, regardless of income.
· 30 hours extended funded childcare : Working parents may be eligible to access up to 30 hours of government-funded childcare per week (a total of 1,140 hours per year), available over 38 weeks. This extended entitlement is designed to support working families by providing additional funded hours beyond the universal 15 hours.
Funded hours can be used during our standard opening times and are subject to availability.
We are happy to support families in understanding and accessing the government funding they are entitled to. If you are unsure about your eligibility or how to apply, our management team is here to help.
For families not accessing funded hours or using additional hours beyond their entitlement, private childcare fees will apply as per our current fee structure.
Charges are as follows:
· Full Day (8:00am – 17:00pm): £80
· Morning Session (8:00am – 12:00pm): £40
· Afternoon Session (12:00pm – 17:00pm): £40
· Additional Hour (7:30am/till 6pm): £10 per hour
Invoices are issued monthly in advance and payments are to be made by the due date stated. We accept various payment methods including childcare vouchers and tax-free childcare schemes.

At Little Nest Day Nursery, we believe that strong partnerships between practitioners and parents are key to supporting every child’s learning journey. To enhance communication and provide parents with meaningful insights into their child’s development, we proudly use Tapestry, a secure and interactive online learning journal.
Tapestry enables us to document, track, and celebrate each child’s individual progress in a clear and engaging way. Practitioners regularly upload observations, photos, videos, and assessments aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS 2025). This allows parents to see how their child is learning through play, developing new skills, and reaching important milestones across all areas of development.
Using Tapestry offers a number of key benefits:
· Real-Time Updates – Parents receive regular updates and snapshots of their child’s day, helping them feel involved and informed, even when they’re not physically present.
· Two-Way Communication – Tapestry allows parents to comment on observations and even upload their own photos or notes from home, creating a holistic picture of the child’s learning and experiences both at nursery and at home.
· Secure & Confidential – Each child’s journal is private and accessible only to their family and authorised staff members. Tapestry is fully GDPR-compliant and committed to protecting your data.
· Supports Individual Planning – By closely tracking each child’s progress, Tapestry helps our team tailor learning opportunities and next steps that suit each child’s unique interests and developmental stage.
We understand how important it is for families to feel connected and confident in their child’s early education. Tapestry strengthens that connection by fostering transparency, celebrating achievements, and building a shared understanding of each child’s growth.
At Little Nest Day Nursery, Tapestry is not just a tool, it’s an extension of our commitment to quality, personalised care and open, collaborative relationships with every family.
At Little Nest Day Nursery, we follow the Key Person Approach to provide every child with a consistent, nurturing relationship that supports their emotional security and overall development. Each child is assigned a dedicated Key Person who takes the lead in understanding and meeting their individual needs, helping them feel safe, valued, and confident in their new environment.
The Key Person plays a vital role in building a strong, trusting bond with both the child and their family. This relationship forms the foundation for effective communication, ensuring we can work closely with parents to support each child’s learning and wellbeing.
Our settling-in process is tailored around the needs of each child and family. We offer flexible settling sessions, where the Key Person takes time to get to know the child’s routine, interests, and comfort strategies. Parents are encouraged to share detailed information to support a smooth and positive transition into nursery life.
We understand that leaving a child in someone else’s care is a big step. Through our Key Person system and personalised settling process, we create a sense of belonging and continuity ensuring that each child’s early experiences at Little Nest LTD are positive, secure, and enriching.
Choosing the right early years setting is a significant decision for every family. At Little Nest Day Nursery, we understand the importance of finding a nursery that not only meets your practical needs but also aligns with your values, expectations, and your child’s individual personality and learning style.
We warmly invite all prospective families to book a tour of our nursery to experience our environment first-hand, meet our dedicated team, and gain a true sense of how we care for and educate our children every day.
Visiting in person allows you to see beyond what a brochure or website can show. It provides an invaluable opportunity to ask questions, observe our setting in action, and feel confident about the environment your child may soon call their second home.
Benefits of Touring Little Nest Day Nursery:
· Experience our nurturing environment: See our calm, nature-inspired learning spaces designed to support emotional wellbeing, creativity, and exploration.
